We're now fighting for the company's survival. COVID-19 happened and 2/3 of the people have been furloughed. Learned a whole new set of skills at 50 years old.
Started over working for a small company with about 60 employees.
Having a couple more kids along the way.Īt nearly 40 went to night school for 3 years while working full time to get my MBA. Got a job with a division of a big company. Worked nights for five years getting us through school. Afterward, went to live with my recently divorced brother and returned to work at the same place which had grown in my absence.Īt 24, I started college at an age where most traditional students were completing a masters. I joined a church and hung everything up to be a missionary for two years. I left home for work in a city three hours away. We moved to another state and I had to repeat my senior year after failing to graduate. I came from a good but poor family that had lost everything in the 1980s.
